The Australian Business Council of Sweden (ABCS) is a network of individuals and organisations who have professional interests in Scandinavia and Australia. The primary purpose of the ABCS is to nurture economic and social opportunities by fostering exchange through professional and networking activities.

Our members include representatives from corporations, commercial organisations, foundations, academia, government agencies, trade, not-for-profit and other local and international organisations with varied interests.

The ABCS currently Co-Chair of ABIE (Australian Business in Europe), an organisation with the objective of growing and strengthening the trade, investment, business and diplomatic ties between the two regions.

Board

Sean williams, chairman

Sean was an original founding Board member of the Australian Business Council and returned to the Board in 2019. He leads the venturing group of ABCS, arranging several meetings each year on start-up and tech themes. Sean is an owner of Mundus International, which provides professional-level news and insights about Sweden, and is introducing a new biofuel to the Swedish market. Prior to stepping out solo, Sean had a corporate career with BP and the NASDAQ. Sean hails from Adelaide, and lived in a number of other global locations before moving to Sweden in 2009.

andrew wiseman

Andrew joined the Board in March 2021. He is a Partner at Oliver Wyman, a global management consultancy firm, where he leads the analytics, technology and digital practice across the Northern Europe geography. He has spent 12 years living in Sweden adding to time in Hong Kong and London. Andrew is originally from Perth.

Helene Winther

Helene is the ABCS's Vice-Chair (Treasurer). She has an investment banking background and was previously based in London and Paris with J.P. Morgan and Citi prior to moving to Stockholm, where she holds investment management and advisory roles. Helene originally hails from Sydney.

 
 
 

JOHN TSIHLIS

John was one of the original founders of the Australian Business Council back in 2016, and enthusiastically returns to the Board to drive Corporate Relations. John brings to the ABC over two decades of international business development, sales, and commercial experience, in several industries including edtech, cleantech, defence tech, beverages and finance.

Originally from Sydney, John has lived in Stockholm for the past 25 years, and is a Senior Manager at BurnVoir Corporate Finance, a corporate finance and strategic consulting firm, and co-Founder of Westberi, a Swedish company supporting the defence industry.

 

Conor Bliss

Conor joined the Board in 2022 with a focus on communications and business process design. He works as an internal management consultant for the telecommunications multinational, Ericsson. Originally from Sydney, Conor moved to Sweden in 2019 to study at The Stockholm School of Economics.

ANDREAS DELIS

Andreas joined the Board in 2024 focusing on membership and communications. He is originally from Sweden and was previously based in Sydney with international law firm Allen & Overy. He has also worked for global fashion and design company H&M and established its online sales business in Australia. Andreas is currently working within the automotive industry at Polestar in Gothenburg.

 

Jake Lowther

Jake Lowther is the ABCS's Vice-Chair (Governance and Administration). He is a WA-qualified lawyer working in M&A and international arbitration at Magnusson Law in Stockholm. Jake is concurrently studying for the Swedish bar at Stockholm University.
